Mrs. Rubay graduated with Honors from California State University, Bakersfield. Her degree is in Social Science with a minor in Economics. She is CLAD (Cross-Cultural Language Academic Development) certified in the state of California. Mrs. Rubay began her teaching career in 2000, working as an intern for El Tejon Unified School District. She was then offered a teaching position a year later, where she also served as the activities director. In 2003, she received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award from Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Voice of Democracy (V.O.D.) program. She then moved on to accept a teaching position at Academy of the Canyons. She worked as ASB Director until 2008 and is currently the National Honor Society Adviser. Mrs. Rubay was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2007-2008 school year. She has also been teaching Virtual Enterprise, a business class, for 16 years and was inducted to the Virtual Enterprise Hall of Fame in 2013 for her dedication to the program. She is currently teaching Economics, Honors Economics, Human Geography, Virtual Enterprise and is the Student Tutor Program mentor. In 2015 she received two Career Technical Education Teaching Credentials and is authorized in Business and Finance, and Marketing, Sales, and Service.
She is married with three daughters and one granddaughter and resides in Frazier Park. Her hobbies include gardening, camping, crocheting, and snowboarding.
